Yoga by Karina (YBK) Online Yoga Membership is an online platform where you can access yoga classes, meditations, tutorials, and journaling prompts in English and Spanish. You can practice whenever and wherever you want, making your yoga practice fit your lifestyle.
Yoga classes come in a variety of levels, providing practice options for yogis of different levels. You’ll also find tutorials of yoga poses, drills, and exercises so that you can keep learning and advancing in your practice.
Additionally, the online yoga membership offers meditations and journaling prompts so that you can not only practice the physical asana, but also integrate the mindfulness practice, work on other limbs of yoga, and develop introspection.
New content is being released every week. Each month, you will get access to 2 shorter yoga classes (20-24 minutes) and two longer yoga classes (45-75 minutes). In addition to those, you will also get one guided meditation, two journaling prompts, and one tutorial every month.
When you sign up, you immediately get access to all content that has been published up to that point.
I am quite busy, and I’m sure that so are you. While practicing longer-duration classes is more realistic than attending a local yoga studio, practicing at home is not quite the same. You can be easily distracted and practicing long-form classes consistently may be a lot more challenging.
I believe that you can benefit a lot more if you practice shorter duration classes consistently rather than long-form classes once in a while, making it easier to establish a consistent yoga habit.
Therefore, I offer classes of various duration times so that you can more easily fit that into your lifestyle.
At this time, most yoga classes are Vinyasa Yoga style. They are rather dynamic and link movement to breath. Expect to move quickly and a lot.
From time to time, I also offer Yin Yoga classes, which are slow and meditative. During Yin classes you’ll hold the poses during approximately 3 minutes or perhaps even longer.
First of all, you’ll need a device to view your classes on (laptop, tablet, smartphone, or TV) and, perhaps, Bluetooth headphones if you’d like practice without disturbing your family or roommates.
To practice you will need a mat. I advise investing in a good-quality mat. It will make your practice safer and more enjoyable. You can learn more about choosing yoga mats here.
You can wear anything that you feel comfortable in. Generally, I recommend form-fitting and breathable clothing for Vinyasa classes. Form-fitting clothing isn’t about how you look, but rather comfort and safety. It can help you move freely and prevent you from getting caught in your clothes and possibly hurting yourself. For Yin Yoga classes or gentler and slower flows, you can also wear a sweater or a sweatshirt and some socks to keep yourself warm and cozy if it’s cold where you are.
As per props, I will let you know if you need anything at the beginning of each class as well as under “Props” in each class description.
Yoga props you may need are a pair of blocks, a strap, a bolster, and a blanket. If you do not have these props, you can also use thicker books instead of blocks, a belt or a scarf instead of a strap, and a firm cushion instead of a bolster. You don’t actually have to buy anything and simply get creative.
For journaling exercises, you may benefit from having access to a printer (if you’d like to print the journaling prompt sheets out) or a notebook (where you can journal).
Yes. Before offering online yoga classes, I used to teach a local yoga studio where I used to get mixed classes with students of different ages, fitness levels, and backgrounds. This has helped me adapt my classes to suit different needs.
As a result, most classes suit a variety of levels. I also offer cues for modifications when those are suitable.
Classes are developed with a healthy body in mind. Since I cannot see you as you practice, I won’t be able to provide personalized cues and suggestions to help you adapt your practice to your needs nor can Yoga by Karina take responsibility for your actions. Therefore, you should consult a doctor before practicing Yoga by Karina online yoga classes.
If you are pregnant, you may be able to continue practicing Yoga by Karina online yoga classes with modifications. Consult your ob-gyn before you engage in any online classes to ensure that they are suitable for you.
Always be mindful of your body and never push through pain.
I offer classes in both English (US) and Spanish (Spain). All content is available in both languages.
The platform is designed to recognize your browser language and load the respective language. However, if that doesn’t happen, locate two flags in the navigation menu and select your language of choice.
You can access the YBK online yoga platform content on your computer, mobile phone, tablet or TV. There is currently no app, but this may change in the future.
